Quality Old School

Now for the really rare stuff that you should buy when you find for sale in good condition:

Orion NT series amps

Orion GS series amps

Orion Concept series equipment

Phoenix Gold Frank-amp'n-stein and Son of FAS

Soundstream Reference Picasso (25x4 chrome SQ amp)

ANYTHING Blade. I've been searching eBay for a Blade amp or two for several years and have yet to come across even one for sale.

I think I saw a GS series Orion at a local pawn shop...are those the black ones?

They also have some "The Punch" series RF subs that look OLDSCHOOL.

50 bucks, but the catch is that I'm at college in arkansas, and the amp is at home in Jax. If you're interested, find me at thanksgiving.

How old school do you want to go?

Pioneer TP-900 8-track with a Clarion 300-EQB and Jensen Triaxials (mid 70's)

Killer system in the late 70's Alpine 7307 Cassette Deck, Alpine 3011 Mini-Eq w/3001 Digital Time Delay unit, connected to two Alpine 3002 50W + 50W power amps with Cerwin Vega CS-15's coaxial 6x9's with 8lb magnets or JBL T545's.

Pioneer Component systems KEX-20, KEX-50, KEX-65, CD-5, CD-7, GM-120.

Kenwood Hybrid KRC-999II with a KAC-1020, KAC-920.

Or

Nakamichi 350 portable cassette deck with a Fosgate (long before Rockford) PR-250, 250II, PR-2100, PR-2100 Type II or the A/D/S Powerplate 100 with A/D/S L200's or L300's.

Also a company called Car-Fi made an incredible high quality amplifier (big heavy monster) and matching equalizer that is rare as hell.

Magnum Professionals made some of the nice speakers around in the early to mid 80's. All cast aluminum construction even the grills and mid/tweeter modules. I found a pair of NOS ones on eBay a few

Fast forward to the early 90's. Alpine 7909 or 7907 for a deck, lots of stellar high quality amps in the 90's with the best coming out around '95' - '98. Too many to list.

Check out my avatar it is an Orion GSX-300 less than 9 were ever made worldwide, triple 24kt gold plated, hand built and tuned by the Chief Engineer at Orion.

Some of the best of the best amps were the Orion XTR 100, XTR 200, NT 100, NT 200. Soundstream 5.0, 10.0 and Picasso are but a few.

I have been in Car Audio for decades. Moldy Oldie.

Round Solo's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif Got one 10" C Series in my Blazer. Nice little sub.

I have a 4 channel PPI Art series, not sure if it works. And an older Coustic amp as well.

There was an old double DIN graphic EQ/HU made by Clarion. It was featured on the cover of CA&E and that thing was simply to die for back in the early 90's. If you can even find out the model number, I would give you props just for that alone. If you owned one, I would simply bow down in stunned awe. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I don't know if this is it, but I still run a Clarion 9772RT Magi-Tune pull-out cassette deck from 91. (Run a Sony DiscMan for CD's).

It was featured on the front of CA&E in the August 91 issue. They tested 5 and the Clarion came out on top as #1. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsupwink.gif.129404938effda6ad9cca39e7f4b58a3.gif

I have a Punch 150 from 1989; it's not even the HD version, that wasn't out yet. It's not hooked up, but it's not for sale as I want to see what it can do.

Still run 2 RF Punch 150's from 89.

LOVE them! True underrated powerhouses in SQ/SPL and can still throw down some very serious biz with the new school Class A/B amps in my class at Comps. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

BTW, if the amp does not work when you hook it up, check the 4 very small 6 amp internal protection fuses. I can't seem to find the 6 amp anymore, but use 5 amp if & when they do blow (which is VERY rare).

*Stay in touch with me. I am interested on how things go & what you think of the performance when you do hook it up. I know you will be pleased! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
