Quality Old School

All excellent flashbacks for me....i havn't heard a m&m odfather mentioned since high school! I cannot believe no one mentioned LINEAR POWER! awesome stuf but looked exactly like old rockford amps....but think they were a tad better which was hard to do at the time.

i have some old road gear amps. they are **** good. walmart ftw:laugh:

I do have some really old kicker subs but they are totally fried. I also have some old rockford 15's that still pound pretty good

I wouldn't call them better than the Rockfords of the era, but they were pretty nice. Ever looked at the guts of one? Looks like someone barfed a bunch of wire into a heatsink. They had a very simple and distinctive HS that was quite different from the original Punch amps.

Better than one or the other is always a debate, but they were indeed excellent amps. I wouldn't be scared of running old late 80's era stuff to this day. Heck if I can run across an old Power 1000 in mint condition I might even do it.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

Well my newest amp is a PG Route 66 so I'm not exactly running new amps.

I would rate the Punch amps of the late 80's early 90's as better based on their bulletproof performance. The Linears were great amps, but they just wouldn't stand up to the same level of abuse that the Punch amps were known for simply shrugging off. Given the choice, I'd probably run the Linears though. I liked the way they looked better. If you don't abuse your equipment at all you can be picky like that. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Ok so I know there has been threads about what people have owned before. But this is slightly different.
I am thinking about starting to collect old school car audio equipment but I have no Idea what to look for.

What is some of the best old school equip out there. The older and the more rare the better.

Thanks,

Nick
