quality 6.5's and 6X9's?

you may want to start searching other charger installs before asking. Are looking to get loud, want SQ? Do you have aftermarket head or did you swap that out? Are you running amps or powering off head unit? Is your budget 300 bucks or 1500 bucks? All this will factor into what speakers or install somebody will point out to you.

Some sq systems I have seen ran 6x9 midbass in the doors, some swapped to 8"s and ran full ranges and tweeters in the dash. Others ran a 6.5 midbass in the doors and placed the tweeters in the 3.5 spot in the dash. Ive heard some local systems with proaudio stuff, but didn't like how they sounded. To me they were loud as **** but didn't sound good doing it. Others have said proaudio systems can sound good, I just haven't heard it yet. There are a bunch of ways to do it and whole bunch of companies to pick from. I would search installs with you car and narrow down from there.

Thanks for the info. As far as putting two 8's in each door, i wont be able to. I have a 2014 challenger RT, that i want to keep as stock looking as possible. I dont want to start cutting up my door pannels //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The best i can do is put 2-6.5in in the rears and 2-6x9's in the doors (1 in each door)
to be honest, the 6.5s will get louder than than 6x9s. Most 6x9s on the market arent worth sh*t

Basicaly i want very good sound quality even before i turn up the sub. Not sure if that makes sense. This build will be for my own personal use and there are times i want to listen to the radio or certain music without the sub making a mess of things. So i guess what i want to do is get decent speakers that are loud enough so that when i do turn up the bass i can still hear the midrange and highs, but still be able to hear some "decent" bass when my sub is turned down.

1. I have the factory head unit because i dont want to modify this car too much. Im going to upgrade to the 2016 model this comming year.

2. im not running amps to the factory speakers.. YET. Thats something i am considering. When i go to my local audio place, i just dont want them to try and screw me over because im inexperienced with this. They said i needed a processor, not sure if thats true or not.

3. My budget is honestly about $3000, which is precisely why im asking these questions because i dont wanna go to some audio place and say "i want speakers, heres $3k....... and please dont screw me over" (lol)

i've narrowed my sub down to a Sundown Nightshade v.3 12"....... i think. And thats as far as i've gotten honestly :/

Can 6.5's fit where a 6x9 would normally go? because if thats the case, then i would much rather go that route because i've heard the same things about 6x9's ... not alot of "good" options for those sized speakers, from what i found. Again, i may be completely wrong.

I would recommend that you check out the Morel line of speakers. From what I've read, their 6x9s put out a fair amount of bass and are sonically accurate throughout the entire range. And, their tweeters are among the smoothest in the business. However, with the sizes you listed (6x9, 6.5", and 3.5") I am not sure you would be using their tweeters. Regardless, you should at least check out Morel.

Thing is, they wont keep up with two sundown nightshade 12s in terms of output. They are crazy good sound quality drivers but they arent meant to get loud and keep up with extreme spl type of subwoofers. If he was running morel, hertz or jl audio or the lower lines of these underground spl subs then yeah those will do nicely. With the nightshades all you will hear is just bass at full tilt if he went with SQ oriented drivers.

What you've heard is pretty true. Yeah you can have 6x9 to 6.5 mdf baffles or adapters, however most adapters are pretty flimsy, i'd rather go with a custom wooden baffle instead. Deaden your doors to improve midbass response you'll definitely want to sound deaden/rattle treat your whole car. Those subs will do a number on your interior panels.
