Hey Guys,
Last year I bought an AVIC-4000NEX head unit, as well as replaced the 6x8's with Pioneer TSD6802R in my F150. Well, this upgrade lacked any lackluster, as the head unit only puts out 13watts. So I am starting to design my amp setup, and I have some questions:
Hifonics amps seem on the low end, but they have pretty good reviews no matter what site I visit. Seems best bang for the buck and they are only 2.4" tall so I am going to go with them. 2.5" is all the room I have to work with if I want to mount them behind my rear seats.
To run my 4 6x8's, a Hifonics ZRX1016.4 1000w 4-channel. I will be upgrading my internal speaker wiring to run this amp and the 6x8's.
My truck has very little space under the rear seat, so I am going to have to go with shallow subs and a tiny box. The Truck Box has .85cf and 1cf per sub and a mounting depth of 5inches.
Thinking about getting these kicker 12's, low profile - SVC 4ohm - 800w peak, 400w RMS. Running on a Hifonics BRX2016.1D Brutus 2000w amp. I would wire the subs for a 2ohm load. I am not quite sure how to calculate this, at 1 ohm they would be receiving 1000w peak from this amp right? Is 2ohm 500w peak?
I am running an optima yellow-top battery, and I am thinking 0 Gauge wiring would be enough to handle all 3000watts? Do you think I would have to upgrade my alternator? And as long as I have a decent battery, I should not need a capacitor correct?
I am thinking of wiring 0ga from battery to a 1to2 power distribution block(PDB) mounted near my amps, then 0ga from PDB to each amp using a 0/4ga Reducer. What size fuse would I need near the battery, and should I get a PDB with its own fuses as well? What size fuses for the PDB?
I haven't purchased anything yet, so I am open to all advice and product changes. I just want to get a decent sounding setup without breaking the bank.
