Okay, I plan on deadening my entire rear hatch area in my car. So heres what I need to know: approx. how much deadener will i need? For reference, the box i built is 36x24x12high and takes up damn near the entire area. Also, I know that there's more than one type of deadener (i.e. butyl, asphalt, liquid) and what are some things i should look for when buying? Any particular brands i should stay away from? Its going in my 240sx, so any deadening will help, cuz the exhaust resonates throughout the ENTIRE car. Will deadening the floor make a huge difference? Also, will one layer be enough or should i buy enough for 2 layers?

Im looking at getting 60^2 ft of eDead v1 off of an ebay seller. After shipping its 70 bucks. Good deal?

Not to be an *** or anything.

Ive seen sound deadener showdown... Ive read it like twice in the past year, but i dont really want statistics and tech specs because what im looking for is people's experiences with products and such.

70sqft cover my '71 bug head to toe pretty well, some a couple spots doubled up. But definately get the v1se over the v1. Or even Raammat.

I used both in my bug, the edead was pretty easy to work with and price was right. But i think i perfered the raammat.

the amount of sound deadener u need has nothing to do with the size of ur box //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif . I use Rammatt cuse of price, great customer service, and recommendations from other people. If I had more money I would've gone with Damplifier Pro.

raammat = teh expensivezor. Plus i have no credit card //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif being 18 blows teh ballz
Not true, it's fairly cheap and it's very good. Plus if u send Rick an email he's always willing to give u a discount if ur plannin on buying more than 1 roll.

i guess just keep in mind, u get what u pay for

quality > quantity

Sometimes u get lucky like i did, i got my second offerings of raammat for 85shipped on a 62ft roll... Deals like that pop up soemtimes

Ya I ordered 5 rolls and 12 yards of ensolite and 5 cans of the adhesive. I got a really really good price //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

I know it has nothing to do with that. I used the size of the box to roughly reference the size of my trunk, being that it takes up 90% of it...
