Q vs Icon: Which is better?

Just as the title says. I will be buying one of them in a few weeks. Who has experienced both, or either one? Which is the better SQ sub?

Good question. I don't think very many people are qualified to answer your question at this point. I doubt you would go wrong with either option. SQ is relatively subjective. I have been in "SQ" cars and really didn't like the way it sounded. with that in mind, either driver "could" sound "bad" when used in a poorly executed install.

I think we need a great big sticky detailing this subject. Hopefully people will look there before posting.

i have heard the Q has a heavy low end, and if its anything like my SSD, that is very true. if i was going for pure SQ i'd go for something with a little flatter response up into those higher freqs.

The Q is a slightly higher up driver with more power handling, more Xmax and a higher price. Either one will be amazing I am sure however.

SQ wise they should be pretty comparable. The q should take more power though (especially w/ the bp option)

Yeah it's going to be a tough decision, from what I understand both of them are amazing drivers. The Icon is conservatively rated, I was told it could take 1200 daily with no problem, if not more.

Shit, I'm pretty sure an Icon 15 and Q 15 are the same price anyway. Gahhhhh what to get!?!?!?!?
