I have no experience with the pg's, altho past history indicates that would be an excellent buy. Sundowns are also known for being excellent amps, but I cannot relate any personal experience with them either. Either I think would do you well however. Some other amps that are a *decent* bang for the buck would be the powerbass asa series amp, (1000 or 2000 watts depending on what ohm load you run) or the Massive Audio P1500.1 (Does about 900 @ 2ohms according to Jacob, I'd take his word for it). Still, they'd be my last two choices. I have been happy with both mind you, or I wouldn't be recomending em, but the pg and sundown are some long term keepers comparitively.

Ok guys it has been noted on more than one occasion that power acoustik amps will not do rated power. Anyone that conducts a search on this forum will find this to be true. However, if you slap one of the amps he is referring to on an SI BM, I guarantee it is going to make quite a bit of sound and who knows, he could be like me and hand people their ***** that are running RF, Sundown, kicker, or any other "high-end" amplifiers.

It's never good to judge a book by it's price tag. I've run Power Acoustik "crap" for years and anyone that has sat in my car will tell you that hearing is definitely believing.

To the original poster, I think either amp will perform great for you.

So a 146 Db's on the termlab with music is LOW??? You've got a lot to learn.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion, however PA is not total crap!! That statement is just funny.

Are there better amps?? Absolutely. For the price and performance, it's hard to beat a PA.

LISTEN....its not really just about rated power. Why buy such nice subs, such as the Stereo Intergritys, and buy some bytch asss amp to power them. If you just want to make some noise, get rid of the BM's ,buy some Audiobahns and a matching amp and save yourself the extra money.

Now if you want to sound good doing it, stick with the BM's and get a good quality amp to back them up with.

How much are you looking to spend though and why are you wanting a amp that does 1800 watts at 2ohm's when you have 2 dual 4 ohm subs. You need to be looking for an amp that is 1ohm stable.

Is the Tantrum 1 ohm stable? If so go with that, from what I hear it is a very powerful amp. What is your budget? And as stated before with 2 D4's you need an amp that does power at 1 or 4 ohm, not 2.

Ebay has Hifonics 1606's for 240 + shipping or the 2006's for 305+ shipping. They are decent amps. You are looking for a good 1700-1800RMS for $270?
