Putting amp to door speakers?

Hello everyone. In my old truck there are only two spots for speakers (without creating my own or building a new box) so I put two 5.25" JL's in my doors and the little suckers press me! But I want more so would it be a good idea to put like a 200 watt amp to it or would that push those little speakers too hard?

Adding an amplifier will get you a little more output, and greater clarity, but two small speakers can only do so much. What more do you want? More bass?

In short yes just match the power of the amp to the speakers you could even go say 15% over powered it should tell you what ohms and what the RMS rating is.

From your user name I'm guessing you have a 90 f150. You can fit 6.5s in the front doors.

What exact speakers do you have?
