I just recently found a pair of the old rockford fosgate power punch dvc's, and I was wondering what kind of box they'd sound the best in. What is the purpose of baffles? Would they sound good in a JL style box? I'm planning on hookin them up to a vx1400d planet audio mono amp thats 1250w @ 1ohm max is that enough power for the both of them?

they get loud as hell. i had a friend with a pair of the 15's off a power acoustick a1000db at 1 ohm and they did a 143.x on the TL sealed on the dash in ~8 cubes ported to like 43hz.

gotta tune a little higher due to the low mechanical throw.

thats all i got for the pictures. had to have a small port area because of the low throw on the subs. ended up loud as shit and sounding pretty good. it was more biased toward rap and a little boomy for my tastes. but they like big boxes and smaller port areas. it was in the back of a ford exploder sport.

hope ya like em!!!

we have found that up with the port back gets the loudest in that particular vehicle. but there is always the off chance that the acostics of other vehicles will be totally different.

sorry i cant really help ya, never worken in a tahoe extensivly. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

all i could find on them was sensitivity 87db, fs(hz) 24, 4" voice coil, recomended enclosure size 2.0 vented, 1.25 sealed. I couldnt find anything on the ports, Its going in a tahoe so I have pleanty of room for a big box if that would make them sound better

i had 3 of them in a 4th order bandpass(1 cube sealed per sub playing into common 2.25 cube ported area with 120 sqaure inches of port)

i had 3 mtx rt2400x(atleast 700watts) going to each sub and i was able to do 145 on music on the audio control mic(old tl mic) sealed at the dash

o yea all in a 1991 ford tuarus

80

having the epic on kind of hurt my numbers during that run
