Punch P2 12s and a 2 channel amp

I am wiring up my friends setup in the title. The amp is 2ohm stable and the subs are 4ohm dvc. If i wire each sub parrallel and hook each one to a channel wouldn't that give me a 2 ohm final load? And for some goofy butt reason he wants the subs inverted. To invert them all i have to do is wire them out of phase right? On the vc's hot to hot and gnd to gnd, then from the sub hot to amp gnd and sub gnd to amp hot? Thanks for all of the advice. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

What is the point of inverting a sub? I've seen it done plenty of times, but it's never sounded good in any application I've seen it in.
Idk why he wants me to do it i told him that its just really for show lol. But u do have to wire the subs out of phase correct? Thats what i thought anyway.

You're correct about the final impedance. Each channel will see 2 ohms.

As for wiring them out of phase, it's really vehicle dependent. You can play with the phase to see if a certain setting will yield better response, but odds are you'll never be able to tell the difference.

If I'm not mistaken, a lot of mono amps and head units with seperate sub controls will let you switch the phase without actually changing the wiring. All my old Alpine HUs did it and my Pioneer Premier now does it as well as my Alpine mono amp. There are small differences when you've got it reversed, but nothing extreme. I'd try it both ways and see which way he likes better. That's what's going to matter in the long run, right?

yea, ill try and wire them both ways i dont think it would make a difference though. It in a 2006 Honda Civic.

Ah, a ricer. That makes sense why he'd want them mounted backwards. It's going to make them louder, kinda like how a spoiler and tribal graphics make the car faster.

lol exactly, it adds 15dbs like a spoiler adds 25hp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif lol
