punch 700s help!!!!

hi everyone

i have a punch 700s with an sub w. alpine type r 1241d 4+4 ohms, it is wired each coil in channel left and right i only get 175 watts per channel at 4ohms i don't know how to wired it differently to gain more watts. i am knew at this so please explain with a draw or something haha. thanks

the thing is, your amp is stable to 4ohm mono, so you can't wire it parallel.

You gotta wire it in series to get an 8ohm load, and find out which channels are for bridging. It should be written either ON the terminal itself or like mine, at the bottom of the amp.

Oh, and even with 8ohms, it should still give you about 300w RMS or so.

go to http://www.eatel.net/~amptech/elecdisc/caraudio.htm and select the series parallel basics on the right 38. you need to know that you sub will either be a 2 or 8 ohm load since you only have one use it at 2 ohms that means wiring the sub itself in parallel. positive to positive, negative to negative then connect the amp you will only get 350 watts for the one sub no matter how you do it.

you get 350 rms x 2 @ 2 ohms that is known. you may get more or less like paikiah said if you go series but that is for you to test
