Does any body know what these amps are capable of? I found one in my garage and it looks like its the old model from back in the day. Im just wondering if its 0.5 ohm capable and how much it would put out.

The 45 was rated at 22.5 x 2 @4ohms. It isn't rated below 4ohms bridged. Sounddomain claims 272watts when bridged at 4ohms on a new 25 To Life Punch 45.

I had a friend that use to pound one in a wall of 15's ...He ran four 8 ohm 15's at 2 ohm mono...in a S-10 extended cab...It would suprise you what that little sucker would do...But I wouldn't recommend running that load on the amp...

I had a 75 bridged on what I later discovered to be an 8ohm and 4ohm.....3ohms????? Never had a problem. But .5???? I don't think that's a good idea.

RF Punch 45HD 'rated' specs:

35w/channel x 2 into 2 ohms from 20Hz to 20KHz with less than .1% THD (Total Harmonic Distortion).

22.5w/channel x 2 into 4 ohms with less than .05% THD.

70w x 1 Bridged.

* These RF amps from the mid 80's/early 90's (HD's) were VERY well known as True Underrated 'Cheater' Powerhouses! They could very well do double the 'stated rated' specs! For the 45, I would say 140 to 170w. I do agree with the post above that stated: "70 bad *** watts". These amps sound very good for both SQ and SPL.

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND any lower than 2 ohms though.

All I have ever used since 89 is the RF Punch 45, 75 & 150 and have LOVED them all! Run 2 Punch 150's now from 89 & still compete with them. They still throw down some SERIOUS biz to this very day! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Run 2 Punch 150's now from 89 & still compete with them. They still throw down some SERIOUS biz to this very day!

Takes me back a few years. I guess it was around '95 when a buddy of mine tried to hook a single 15 up to 2 channels on a 4ch 600 watt Alpine. Don't remember what the 2 channels were rated at bridged but over 300 watts by their specs (might have been max, I can't remember). Sounded like ars and he paid BIG bucks for that amp. And don't get me wrong I'm an Alpine fan, they have good amps. I've owned a couple. It just shows you how underrated the RF was, because it blew that Alpine away.

Those were nice amps.
