PS3/BluRay/1080p/Computer/torrent Information

For the money, I would take the PS3, over a BR burner/discs. If you were to just try to play them movies off the hard drive of the computer it may be a toss up, but to buy a quality video card to support 1080p would probably be a decent amount toward a ps3 lol

i am pretty sure an 8800 GTS would be able to handle it

I'm not sure how it's compressed, I'll check when I get home.. But I've downloaded 1080p blueray stuff that was under 10gb. IIRC they are mkv's

alot of them are 720p gay... is that the way the come in the BD disk? or is it just because they had to compress it to keep file size down

i find the whole media center pc thing troublesome. I deal with computers all day everyday, and when i want to watch a movie I don't want to have to deal with a computer, I'd rather pop it in my ps3 and hit play.

That's exactly what I do with my media center... *shrug*

computer media center has a lot more potential then a PS3 IMO and is stupid easy to use.

id say dont buy the PS3 my laptop plays HD movies through the 360 and media center just fine. using it wirelessly gets a little touch and go since my router is like 6 yrs old, but when i have my laptop wired to the router it plays perfectly.

720p is a sacrifice for file size. No one likes sharing files that are 30+ gig. They **** balls to host. If you want free shit, don't complain about the 720p. It's not THAT much worse than 1080p. I wish I had a TV that was even hi-def. Just live with it lol.

it's 50gb with all the special features, Spanish and French Dolby 5.1 Audio of course.

Just get the movie in english on divx or something and save your self the trouble.
