The Camry
Hey, I Try.
Well aint that some ****. Buy another through a place with a warranty. Swap out the head unit and send back the broken one. Wa-La!! new HU
Have you tried grounding your rca or trying different ones?Tried resetting it but no luck ! I did play with sub level and it was at +2 on sub level at 0 I can get to 50 on vol before clipping measured at head unit at a 40hz tone @ 0db with oscope, If I turn sub level down to -9 I can get to vol of 59 before it clips either way ***** higher vol and no bass or no volume and medium bass. and these arent the loudest HU anyway seems like most of the volume knob is a waste - cant even hear it till it gets in the high 30s lol. I guess I should ask whats out there thats better ? I see the alpine 164bt not sure if its active capable ? anyone have any suggestions on single din active capable / ipod capable as well ?
Funny you should mention that! I grounded the rca s at the head unit about a week ago using the trick I saw on this site, with stranded wire around each input jack and grounded to stereo housing ? I had just put in a new small sub amp and was getting alt whine and it cured it ? rcas are pretty new soundrive units and the have not been used much so I have not tested them but I am talking about clipping out of the head unit not out of the amp ? Does that make sense ?Have you tried grounding your rca or trying different ones?
If your subs are clipping faster over time then it could the rca or your amp.
Its very hard to just say its the headunit without actually doing basic testing first.

Are you putting the o-scope at the amp outputs or at the end of the rcas for the sub amp?Funny you should mention that! Try measuring with the oscope without grounding the rcas.I measured out of the HU and at the amp end of RCA s with them plugged in to hu -not amp
Thanks man ! I will tomorrow and I have a feeling your on to it cuz I dont think I had a problem before it did it just slight alt whine. I will let you know what i find.Try measuring with the oscope without grounding the rcas.
It could easily be a small ground loop causing minimal noise.

Looks like a dso nano v2Those oscopes do work huh, what model are you using? I've been wanting to get one for a while
Nano DSO I had it for a while and once you figure it out its really easy to use and takes the guess work out of setting gains and checking for clipped signal. Those oscopes do work huh, what model are you using? I've been wanting to get one for a while
I am No expert by a long shot but dosent seem to be ? but I mainly use it to set gains and check HU and usually at 40hz and 1khzthere's no issue with signal resolution from 1hz to 20khz or higher? theyre cheaper than a smd dd-1 and are more useful lol well if they work. i know a guy who has 4 or 5 old oscopes laying around and ive heard they're way better if you can find them so i might try to get one. problem is they're heavy as **** and the size of a desktop computer
Yaaa, But I like to think I am more honest than that. Just sayin not judging at all. Thanks for your input though.Well aint that some ****. Buy another through a place with a warranty. Swap out the head unit and send back the broken one. Wa-La!! new HU
Tried it ungrounded rcas at the deck and its the same even used a different rca adapter ends that I clip O scope to and still the same..//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gifTry measuring with the oscope without grounding the rcas.
