Ok, so I get my new system installed this past Friday:

2 Ascendant Audio Arsenal 12's

ED NINe.1 for subs

eDi 6500 components for doors and dash

ED NINe.2 for comps

Sealed box for subs

Eclipse CD3000 HU

Well, I get it in with my system installed for bout five minutes, and I'm driving home thinking "hmm, comps nor subs are very loud like i planned", so I turn up the non-fader out for subs to notice that its all the way up already, well then i turn up the bass on the hu and there we go it starts hitting a little harder from subs, well about 2 min. later my front speakers stop playing and start clicking and the ED nine.2 is in protect. Well i come back from trip 3 days later to get back to my car and it still in protect when i cut car on and speakers clicking noise still. I want my subs to be way louder without bass having to be turned up on HU, the gain on amp is almost half way turned up tho, it sounds like a 200w setup tho... And my front amp, what to do? Connections are fine, help please.

Read the gain setting tutorial.

First off for the subs.

Turn off all bass boost, eq's ect....

Turn your volume up to 3/4 of the way.

Set you lpf to 80hz

Sub sonic filter off cause you are running sealed.

If your deck has a sub control turn it all the way up.

Make sure your subs are wired to 1ohms

Then find out how to set the gain by reading the tutorial.

Second your nine.2

need more info on settings ect.

subsonic cant be turned off it is always on, but can be turned down low as 15 hz, and for the lpf thing, why set at 80? hardly no frequencies will reach it cept midbass with it that high, it can go as low as 35 hz tho.

o and why turn sub control all the way up? if i do that then i cant push it any further when i want to on HU cuz it will already be all the way up..

No the lpf will not allow any frequencies over 80hz not the other way around.

Read the gain setting tutorial.

Cause if you set you gains with the sub control all the way down ect... and you turn it up more when you are playing your music you could damage your sub cause you could be sending it clipped signal.

only problem with turnin sub out all the way up to begin with is i have to turn the bass up on hu to give my subs' the full signal which drives me crazy cuz then it sends bass to door speakers too.

You need to take a writing class. It's impossible to understand your posts. Way to in no way sway my opinion of the South.

Secondly, you may just have a broken amplifier.

It happens.

There's no magical solution.

Give the kid a break (he is still in high school and un experienced in car audio), he is a little franitic. Ive been talking to him for a while now. He is just confused and doesnt know what to do since the shop he went to isnt very competent. If someone in the area could help him out it would settle his down alot.....

You dont have to turn up the bass boost on the deck period if you set your gains correct.

By turning up the sub control does not add bass to your door speakers.

Set your gains using the tutorial if you do so you do not need to turn up the bass boost on the deck for your subs to recive the full signal. If you do then you are just sending the subs a clipped signal and that is not a good idea.

If you want to turn up the bass boost on the deck turn it up before you set your gains and do not turn the bass up anymore then what you set the gains at.

If you need some help setting it up just holla at me over aim addy in sig.

I also have a nine.2 and can help you track the problem if you want.

Anyways good luck.

Ok do this

First have a dmm and some test tones

Set your gains by the following.

With your car off

Disconect your speaker wire from the nine.1

Hook up the dmm to the speaker terminals

Set lpf to 80hz

Turn system on.

Turn off your eq

Turn the sub control all the way up

Set your bass boost on the deck to what ever you want

Pop in your test tone 0db, -3db what ever you pick at around 50hz

Turn head unit up 3/4 the way

Now go look at the dmm and keep turning up the gain till it reads 34.64 on the dmm

Once you reach your voltage leave it there and shut off the system

Rehook up your subs to the amp and test it out.

If you are still not happy with the output I suggest you build a ported box.

That is if you have your subs wired down to 1ohms.
