The strength increased greatly in my build when I added steel rod. The fiber glassing helped, but the steel rod made it so the baffle does not budge

FG is good for curves.Its just going to be a ***** to get that shit smooth again.

I don't see that adding much strenght to the build.You should have just coated it with reson.But to each his own.And an FYI were 2 pair of gloves and spray WD40 on them and the FG will stick less

How does the box feel with just sanded flberglass? I would say sand it as smooth as you can, then lay down some gelcoat on the whole box, inside and out. Even sanded, the bare fiberglass is still probably sort of porous and rough, the gelcoat would make it smooth as a piece of glass.

You said you sanded and coated already, but you can see by looking in the port that it isnt smooth at all, only takes a couple hours and a can of body filler to get it smooth as hell, no pores or bumps

I really dont udnerstand the "box" with no real "port" but aparently thats tuned? Just curious
