yea... 25hz tune means the sub ONLY PLAYS 25hz... hrm...
it'll probably peak somewhere between 30 and 35.

It should give a nice gain by actually turned the box around (if it'll fit) so that the port fires to the left and the sub fires forward... otherwise having the port that far away from the rear of the trunk will def hurt spl.

do you concider a noob some one with a post count of 200 or less? or someone who just doesnt know all that much about nuthin at all. Because alot of so called noob's are not exactly noob's. Some of them have been arround the block actually taking care of business them selfs rather then talking on this site. If you have been on this site for two years, and have worked with car audio for that time alone, vs. someone who has been on this site for two weeks and been involved with custom car audio for 12 years... I mean who is the noob then? what is the deciding factor you concider a noob to be?

Box looks awesome dude..Get us some pics when its finished. I always enjoy seeing peoples good work. I agree w/ one of the above posts with the port orientation. Consider a different location if you could next time, but that one should do fine as well.. I wanna hear that baby.

and dont forget, you can reinforce the UNDERSIDE of the fiberglass too. IMO - i wouldnt have even put a single layer on the outside of the box for ease of use when you have access to the other side. but thats just me.

i cant wait to see more.

Technically we can hear to 20Hz...in HT systems it's common to tune very low (20-25Hz) because that maximizes the "impact" of the deep subbass that we can feel. Because ported boxes lose output rapidly below tuning, tuning very low takes advantage of this.

It isn't as common in cars because of cabin gain...

this one is of a light coat of bondo on the fiberglass part, and the beginning of concealing the screwholes



then we have a close up of the wood putty. My mom told me to use it, and i like it. its quick drying than bondo. u just need to use 2 layers



not bad, needs sanding though. So does this.....

off to other things. after sading the crap out of a section, just to test it out and make sure paint was the way i wanted to go, i laid down about 6 coats of primer, both on the side and the panel, and this is what i came up with.......its also got 3 layers of clearcoat on it...
