your rear doors wont shut properly in the long run without some type of support in the rear window.....i would run some all thread through the box and weld the ends conecting the metal peaces on the side

Just weld in some round tube top and maybe bottom for a crossmember and it should be good. You definately have more balls with a sawzall and a car than I do man.

1" square steel welded at the shock towers, and thick steel stock on the top, bolted in multiple locations to prevent it from flexing/re-enforce the top.

the top bar I believe is 1/8" think, the 1" steel square is 1/16" thick.
