programs for wiring?

No, notthat I know of, but to work at a local shop you will need to know a lot more than wiring. Go to B&N and pick up some literature on CA&E, and then do a lot of research on the particular wiring schemes in different makes of cars. Better yet, go to your wishful future employer and ask them what type of knowledge and skills they look for in an employee.

There is a cert that some installers get, and if you couldget that, it would probably help a lot, I cannot remember the name of it though, I think it is something like MCEP.

yes, you should def get a certification to get a job, everyone at the shop i work at is certified but me and maybe on other guy. Dont remeber the name of it either but call the shop you want to work at, or call a few and ask what they are looking for.

Reading up on it is a good idea but I find I learn much better through experience...you can't really know what's actually involved by just reading...but it is a good place to start...whenever I install in a car or work with a component I am unfamailiar with I try to do as much research as I can before hand....someone has most likley done whatever you are attempting to do and there is no need for you to make the same mistakes twice.

You have to take an MECP test. They have practice tests on their site.I don't feel like searching for them though.

Or you could go to a school and definently pass (god willing lol) and it'd probably look better on your application.

But you def. need to know a lot more than wiring like said above.

Ok, I just read some of your other posts.I wouldn't even bother applying at a shop. You don't know anywhere near enough to even be a salesman. You might be able to sweep the floor though?

can i get a certain name of certification that i need? like something to search on the internet for a local class ?
Lemans corrected me and informed you thatit was an MECP certification.

Literally a 10 second search brought this up:
