The Loss prevention in my store will, and has on numerous occasions bloodied people up who tried to walk or run from them. The cops that patrol the area of my store disregard it, and if you fight back, they add an assault charge.

Walmart policy is that you have to walk past the last point of sale (the registers) but the LP can invoke the state law and bust your ***, and as I said.. our Loss Prevention is sadistic and enjoys it when you resist, he throws punches when you resist because you get hit with assault and he's just defending himself by physically restraining you. He also can handcuff and detain you. It's awesome."

**** that man, they have no right to touch you, I work at a grocery store and we've had LP help us out a few times, and they can't do shit to you, they can yell at you all they want in hopes you'll actually listen, but once you walk out the store, tough shit, unless of course they get a license plate number, then the cops take over from there.

They can't touch or search you, you could sue the living crap out of them.

Most of the time I do, or I just focus the camera on them. You can look down their shirts through the camera. They also have a hot chick working checkouts I focus the camera on.

WOW.......amazingly funny you say this happened. I have a story, from around 8 years ago @ a K-Mart, before wal-mark ***** slapped it........same deal.......4 or 5 guards checking me out....I was @ auto, sporting, electronics, cd's, and all....and everywhere I went, I was watched. I acted on it, though. I went to the dressing room, and pushed out a fairly small turd........very small. Looked like a skid mark when I used my boxers to wipe....lol.

Anyway, 5 minutes later, I tried to walk out the front doors, and the door guard noticed the "bulge" in my pants pocket and very roughly grabbed me......."and what the hell do you have in your pants?" he said........"boxers".....I said........" oh, I crapped myself......and wiped w./ them" and I acted like I was gonna put them in his hands.........He jumped out of his skin.............lol....lol....lol.....Then just threw them in the outside trash can..........

I work at Kmart and we don't have guards. I even trained at one of the highest theft areas in the country and there were no guards. It's company policy only a LP person can confront you.

We have a VERY large officer on our local force... about 6'5" tall around 450 pounds, roughly 19-20" arms -- he's a bit fat but is a very strong guy (very nice too if you aren't breaking any laws).

Two guys came running out of our Wal-Mart... they were looking back and one ran directly into him. The guy who ran into him decided it would be a good idea to throw a punch... hit him right across the jaw and really had no effect whatsoever. Officer back-handed him, not even a punch, and knocked him out cold... second guy surrendered immediatly.

That was funny.

I guess it's different there, we're not allowed to touch them or search them unless a manager or an LP person actually sees them stuffing product into their pockets, or something similar.

Wal-Mart looses a lot of money every hear due to theft...pretty funny that their the low price leader, yet more people steal from there than where I work, a direct competitor to wal-mart, and it's more expensive lol...oh well good for us I guess.
