****ers profiled me last night when I went to Wal-Mart at 2am to buy a birthday card for my grandma. Walked in, browsed the supermarket because I had the munchies, browsed electronics as always, then proceeded to the card section and made a selection. I first noticed a guy dressed in black security-type garb staring at me over some boxes as I made my way from electronics to the card section. He averted eye contact immediately when spotted. While looking at cards, I rounded the end into another aisle quickly, literally almost running into a different guard in similar attire adjusting his walkie. Several minutes later, I spotted a female guard who had stopped three aisles down, and was eyeing me from a distance. Once checked out, I noticed an older, heavy-set guard with his arms crossed standing by the scanners as I walked out (presumably there to tackle me if I attempted to run, or if the scanners went off). Pissed me off, but at the same time I got a little chuckle out of it knowing that I made so many peoples nights by giving them a 30 minute adrenaline rush, and making them feel like they were an episode of Cops in the making.

I think it had more to do with the fact it was 2AM and they had no one else to watch and were bored to tears.

i used to be an install manager at a best buy here in town...one day i visited another bestbuy closer to my house and i was being followed around the whole time. seems i made them nervous and on our way out they asked to search my girls purse. knowing the rules we refused...it against your civil rights for an illegal search and no footage or reasonable cause for search. needless to say bestbuy settled out of court for a decent amount. it also secured my job for auite sometime afterwards since they really couldnt fire me.

bestbuy, circuit, walmart etc...are all on the books for multiple cases like this on a yearly basis

what you do is shove everything you are buying into your pockets and walk around a lot.

then just walk up to the front of the store REALLY fast like you are going to run...but then go to the last checkout and and take everything out of your pockets and pay.

Its really anti-climactic.

I'm sure it may seem like this, and maybe in your area it's true, I dunno. I do know, however, that I have been similarly followed in Wal-Mart on several occasions and I'm not a minority.

here at my wally world the lp are not allowed to chase or restrain. the only way for them is to keep an eye out and hope they can have the local pd outside the front door when the perp. walks out. of course this is the same place that take treadmill boxes back and gives a refund........then looks inside to find bricks.....lol

The Loss prevention in my store will, and has on numerous occasions bloodied people up who tried to walk or run from them. The cops that patrol the area of my store disregard it, and if you fight back, they add an assault charge.

Walmart policy is that you have to walk past the last point of sale (the registers) but the LP can invoke the state law and bust your ***, and as I said.. our Loss Prevention is sadistic and enjoys it when you resist, he throws punches when you resist because you get hit with assault and he's just defending himself by physically restraining you. He also can handcuff and detain you. It's awesome."
