Hi,
Setup is as follows (installed by audio express)
Mazda 3 with stock head unit
Rockford Fosgate 3sixty 1.0
4 channel pioneer amp which power the following
-two pioneer premier 3 ways
-one 10 inch sub
I have an ipod plugged into aux on 3sixty unit.
Recently Ive noticed the sub is a lot lower and sounds off on songs.
I have to crank the volume on the ipod and the 3sixty switch to get the sub to hit.
It is not a subtle change in volume of the lows either, it goes from no lows at all to .. boom.. full on bass.
If I crank the volume the bass sounds fine, but at mid volumes its too low and distorted, and at lower volumes it sounds off (but its not completely off as I jfeel a small vibration on the woofer.)
When I play rap or low end bass songs it seems to keep the sub running fine, but rock or jazz with less low end sound like the sub is off altogether until a low end part of the song kicks in.
I took it back to audio express, at first they said it sounded fine to them. Then they blamed it on poorly recorded mp3's (which is BS as i rip at high bitrates). I then recreated what happens and they said i should get another amp specific to the sub (not sure why it was working and sounding fine the week before).
Then they said its likely the 3sixty unit (the volume button the aux on/off does not work all the time) and said they would have to replace the 3sixty.
Any ideas what may be going on here? I'm getting mixed messages from them.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
