okay so i had an FI Q and being that i have a kicker 1000.1 which only has an on and off switch for the subsonic filter and you cant turn it down any lower.

i blew the FI twice now and im not getting it fixed

so im buying an alpine type X and throwing it in a ported box

going to use my kicker 1000.1

i have a cross over that will turn down to 40hz, but no lower.

what should i tune my box to?

tune to whever you want. I bet you still blow a sub doing whatever it is you've been doing.

You didn't specify?

Apparently you turned the subsonic off and somehow found a song that hits that low?

You had your gains set crazy

or you had BB cranked up.

Or you had your deck sending a distorted signal.

There are so many reasons you could have blown tha FIQ that you need to resolve before buying another sub.

How did you blow it?

Tune your box to wherever you want. There isn't a rule of thumb. It depends on music you listen to, Manufacturers specifications and what you want.

i guess just because of the filter turned off bass boost wasnt up really at all im not too much of a noob.
