Well I did a install 98 jeep cherokee. Pioneer 6500, audiopipe ap10001d 3 sundown e8's. Well first off one of them got the tinsel burned up, im only sending 200 watts to each(gains set with dmm). When the volume is turned up higher the subs keep cutting in and out rapidly but when u cut it back down a few notches it stops, I tried my saz1500d on it also and it does the same thing. So it's gotta be the cd player right? It's wired at 1.34 ohms both amps are 1 ohm stable and beyond.

watch the power light on the amp when you turn it up see if it flickers on and off.sounds like the amp is going into protect when you turn it up.when you burned the tinsle lead you may have done soething to the amp also.just a suggestion

I checked my sundown amp also so thats a no.

RCAs? Shouldnt be the amp thats the problem if it still did it when you changed out to your 1500.
Yea I dont think it's the amp. Could be bad rca's. Im leaning to something with the cd player. I may take my alpine out of my car and test it in his see it thats hte problem.
