problem with my orion 15.4

i got the sub and when i hook it up correct it doesnt work but if i got just negative to negative it works a little bit but there is a constant crackling sound. im only hookin it up to a home theatre system could it be because its not gettin anywhere near enough power.any info will help thanks

Sounds blown.

Read the coils with a DMM. Does it make noise when you move the cone by hand.
