problem with memory

hello,

I have installed a jvc cd player and am not able to retain my presets.my instructions

with the player said the yellow wire is to be connected to a constant power source

so I connected it to the yellow battery wire coming from the vehicle.can someone

offer me some alternate suggestions for enabling the memory.thanks for any help.

so you cut your factory harness off?

I did'nt buy it new,so I had to wire it individually.

It plays fine,just won't hold presets.

run the yellow wire to the battery or something in the fuse box that stay on all the time like cig lighter

just find something that stays hot with the car off, the car should have a spot in there factory for the radio
