Problem with JVC head unit AUX input PLEASE HELP!

When I plug my phone or any other mp3 playing device into the aux input on the head unit it only plays out of the left side speakers. The aux cable is brand new. And the weird part is that it will play out of both speakers only if I put pressure on the center of the head unit. When I let go, it goes back to only working on once side.

PLEASE HELP!

the aux jack has either a broken pin or it's going bad.

So is my only solution to replace the unit?
