so one day im driving down the road when i notice that my left comps arnt as loud as my right ones. infact i have to set the fade almost al they way over to the left to get them to be equal. so i decided to change out my wiring since it was just hooked to the HU and a crapy job at that. i hooked them back up to my hifonics zx6000 using 12 gauge wiring. and did a nice job. well i turn up the music and it sounds kewl for a while til the left speaker gets really quiet and then shuts off the right one is still playing. i checked the wiring to make sure it handt come un done and it was all in tact. well the next day driving along the right one goes kinda quiet then shuts off. my cd player keeps going and the amp is all light up and looking fine. checkd the wiring again and no problems. i dont think i blew them. the hifi puts out 150x2@4 and i beleive the cdts can take that. and usually you smell the voicecoils melting when you blow something and there isnt a smell. so what could the problem be? the tinsul leads are all still intact as well. and there doesnt appear to be any damage to the speakers.

well today i went to check it out today but by the time i got arround to it, it was getting really dark outside so what i did was take one of my stock 6x9s and hooked it up to the factory wires that connected to my HU and i got music out of it while i still got nothing from my comps. so i do not think it is the HU. Maybe my comps are fried? but if so how only 150rms

what set of cdt's do u have? take the speaker thats not working out along with the xover and tweeter. Try the mid and tweeter using the xover if nothing use the mid only no xover or tweet. if the mid then works your xover is messed up. Im willing to bet if you have the 456 xovers they are no good. after u figure out whats broke send it back and get new ones under warranty:)

i talked to cdt a couple days ago, they're having prob's with the 456A xovers...

well the the first thing to go was my tweets then the speakers. i acatually was running just the mids for a while hooked to the stock wires thats when the first one went quiet. so i added the amp and xovers back on. but ill give it a shot.

yup my mids and tweets are done for. i unhooked them and hooked them up to the stock wiring. and got no response. hooked my stock speares up and the started to play. so somehow i killed them.
