If I ran two 8 ohm speakers in series than it would drop to four ohms and I would still get the full 800 watts right?
Thats the 2 pos and 2 neg connected right? So if I did that I woud get a 4 ohm load...and the amp would still push the 800?
ok bridged ur amp looks like this... + - + -

Basically, to get a 4 ohm load out of two 8 ohm speakers, connect both speakers just like you see in the lil picture I drew above (if it makes any sense). Yes, that means you will have two wires connected to each terminal on the amp.
This setup will work as long as you have Single Voice Coil (SVC) subs. However, if you have Dual Voice Coil (DVC) subs, it will be a little more complicated. What kind of subs are they?
DVC are usually put on higher quality subs... but it really doesn't make a big difference. DVC is conventient because you can get a wider range of wiring configurations out of them.Ya single voice coil. I was considering going with dvc 4 ohms also since I can wire these in series or parralell (not sure which) and still get four ohms to one channel. My dilmma is the box only has one terminal for one speaker wire but holds two tens. What are the advantages to dvc....do they sound better?
I guess I could put another terminal in the box. Its an mtx thunderform, I dont know if it would mess anything up as far as the box goes. Do they make a single terminal that holds inputs for 2 speakers?DVC are usually put on higher quality subs... but it really doesn't make a big difference. And about your box terminals, just buy another terminal and cut it into your box. Shouldn't take you more than a few minutes and like 2 bucks for a terminal.
by one terminal, do you mean one positive or negative wire, or a pair of wires, one positive and one negative? I'm assuming its the latter. As I said before, you can just attach another terminal cup to your box, its easy. You kinda lost me there. I havent bought the subs yet. I can only run 1 speaker wire to the box since it only has 1 terminal in the back. I have a kx800.2 already. If I bridge that amp than I will be able to put full power into one channel at 4 ohms and Im trying to figure out my wiring options before I buy the subs so I will know what to buy........if you are following this. The box pretty much forces me to bridge the amp being that it only has 1 terminal.
