The Premier dealer I do business with says its the peak rating. You're right the catalog does list the RMS rating for the amps. But if you look at the catalog where it lists continuous power (rms of course) that matches the printed ratings that are on the birthsheet does it not?? YES it DOES. The Pioneer website says the same thing. They rate the amps for rms but they do Hands-ON test for the PEAK value. Otherwise where is the PEAK rating on the amps then??? Huh ?? I know what I'm talking about. They do under rate their amps but not that much. My owner's manual for my PRS-X720 also states continuous power output was as follows:100w X 2 @ 4 ohms, 400w X 1 @ 4 ohms, and 200w X 2 @ 2 ohms. Which also matches the catalog and the website. It doesn't say "see birthsheet". I don't know what Premier dealer you're dealing with but they are mistaken.Originally posted by Jmac Where's your proof that it's not the RMS value ... ?
Logic points me in the direction that it is the RMS rating ... And every single Premier dealer here also says it's the RMS value. And the 2001 Pioneer catalogue says that it's the RMS value.
