I disagree, JL was one of the other brands that I was considering when choosing amps a year ago. And after comparing price, features, and power ratings I realized that the Premier had ALL the features I would ever need. The sound quality is excellent on the Premier amps. There was no way I could justify paying that much more for a JL amp that offered no more in return. And as far as accuracy is concerned, a clean amp is an accurate amp.Originally posted by Mark_ab The features of the JL are also superior, as far as accuracy is concerned.
How is 335+shipping even remotely considered "expensive" for such a clean amp. The 720 is worth all of that and then some. Those originally retailed for around 550. 335 is nothing if you ask me.Originally posted by Jmac Every place I see, the X720 is expensive, unfortunately. I so wish thezeb.com carried them for their sale that's on right now, but they don't.
The lowest I've seen them (other than eBay) is $335 + shipping from etronics.com and $379 shipped from onlinecarstereo.com ...
Originally posted by Jmac The lowest I've seen them underrated is 70%. However, most birthsheets I've seen are in the range of 100-125% underrated ... I saw one that was a little under 140% underrated.
The Premier amps are NOT...........I REPEAT..............NOT NOT NOT under rated. On the birthsheets where it says "rated" power that is the RMS rating or continuous output.
On the birthsheets where it says "actual" power that is the PEAK rating of the amp.

Secondly, the main reason the Zeb doesn't include those in their sale is probably because Pioneer is no longer making those amps and they sold out of what they have in stock. I've looked in many places and can't find any more 720's at all. They are showing up on ebay because a few people still have a few floating around. It's a shame but for some reason Pioneer decided to stop making Premier amps. What a shame.

Up there at the top. I originally bought the Premier amps because their affordability. Needless to say I was very surprised at their cleanliness and nice features. I had Rockford amps, older Pioneer amps, and I once tried a PPI amp and none of them had sound quality of the Premier amps. I even converted one of my friends from Kicker amps to Premier amps and he can't believe how much money he could have saved if he would have tried Premier first.Originally posted by musicman Hey larry
how do the premier's compare with other amps that you've had as far as sq goes.
Its not strange....its just how they word it that seems strange. They have an RMS and PEAK rating. The main difference on the Premier amps is that they do a hands on actual test on the peak rating.Originally posted by musicman why do the premier amps have such strange power ratings? It does 400x1 at 4ohm but has a max of 750?
I would have to say yes. I run MTX 5000 components and they are recommended for 50+ watts rms. The 340's put out 37.5 watts rms and when I used to run my fronts and rears off of 1 340 I had no problems with clipping. It sounded very very clean. I only switched because I decided to go with a 340 for each sub I'm running now.Originally posted by musicman can the x340 run 4 speakers that do about 50-70 rms?
What do you mean by REAL power specs.???Originally posted by ElementalG20 What are the real power output specs on each modle of the premiers? I know somebody looking to start a nice new system, and these could work for them. But I need to know the real power specs.
