PPI Art series or Hifonics Series VIII

Okay so this the deal I was thinking of rather than getting new school amps for my front stage, I would take a chance with something used and old school (I figure even if it is not in the greatest shape and it gives out within a year I can get it fixed and still have an old school monster for another 5 years).

The dilema, do I go with two PPI art series (A404 [40x4] & A600.2 [150x2]) or since I already have a Hifonics Boltar Series VIII (200x2) just get a Gemini Series VIII (75x4) to go with it. The 2 channel on a pair of 8" midbass and the 4 channel on a pair of horns in the front and possibly in the future rear speakers.

Please chime in with your opinion, even if it's "your a dork", to which I say "I got your dork hangin right here!!!" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

The A600.2 will WALK all over that Hifonics. Really one of the best, and most popular amps ever produced. If I knew I was going to have this much trouble with my DA7232, I would have gotten the dual 2 ohm L7's and put an A600.2 on each sub.

I was looking for an A1200.2 at the time but couldn't find any on Ebay.

Well for one your info is a little off, the A404 is 50WX4 @4ohms, 100WX4 @2ohms and 200WX2 @4ohms, and your specs are right about the A600.2 but it is a true 600WX1 of clean power at 4ohms. The Hifonics doens't even come close in comparision with the quality of the Art Series amps. I would run the A600 for the fronts (stereo) and bidge the A404 for the 8's, but that is just me!

go for the PPI Art series. they are hands down some of the best amps ever made, extremely reliable with great sound quality and strong power(they are underrated).

The Art series will eat any Hifonics amp for lunch, actually more like a snack. You can not go wrong with them. And as you can see on ebay they hold their value.
