Powering my Sub Question

Ok well I know its not the best sub in the world but it was cheap, Its a 2005 Kicker Comp VR 15. Im building a 5 cube box tuned to 20 Hz for a HT project. My question is will a 240 watt plate amp be sufficient. The sub RMS at 500 but I figured in this huge low tuned box that a little underpowering would be ok. Let me know.

Be careful with that, the sub probably won't be too well damped in that large of a box. It should be fine.

I would use a smaller box first off, you don't want to bottom out the sub. You can still tune low, but be careful.

Decent, but I don't know what they recommend. You can still tune lower as the longer port will take up more air which is what you would be looking at to make the box smaller.
