Powering 2 Amps

I am about to start my install with my friend and I had a few questions regarding my install.

1) How do I get both of the amps to power up with the headunit? I know that one will be powered by the remote turn-on wire but how do I go about powering up the second one?

2) On the back of my headunit (Alpine CDA-9833) are two pair of RCA pre-outs that seemed to be unlabeled and another pair of preouts that are labeled subwoofer. Do I run the RCAs that power my subwoofer amp to this preout?

3) Would any type of interference occur if I run the two RCAs together on the same side of the car?

1) You can use that remote wire from your stereo to turn on multiple amps. Just split it at the back near the amps and run it to both.

2) If you have a set of RCA outs labelled sub, then by all means run from there to your sub amp. The other two are front and rear. I can't be 100% positive without looking at the back of one of my Alpines, but if they are not labeled, I would assume that the ones closest to the sub outs are for the rear and the others are for the front.

If it is a current model, you can find the manual on Alpine's website. If it's older, you can probably still find it online and print it out. Good luck with your install.

Well, we all learn new things on a daily basis, right? I gave advice based on experience instead of research. After reading another thread here, it seems like the general advice is not to run more than two amps from one remote lead. So you should be fine that way I stated, but if you run more than two amps, apparently you should use a relay. I've personally run 3-4 amps in my systems for years, and I've always split them from one remote wire off of the head unit with no relay. I've never had a problem doing it this way, but maybe I've been lucky. Just from reading the advice in the other thread, I will be putting in a relay asap myself, just to be safe.
