i just took my deck outta my car and i was putting it into my new one! my first car didn;t have a wiring hsrness it was really old and was just hacked to death by teh guy before so i set out and made my own(kinda) i am installing my kenwood deck into a 91 tercel i hooked everything into my wiring harness but my deck doent seem to have a constant power source becasue everytime i turn the car on all the presests are gone adn the clock is reset. also the highs fade in and out and it pisses me off!! i looked at the power wire from the harness and it was dinky thin compared to the power wire for the cd player? any suggestions!? thnx!

also make sure you got the right wire going to constant power and accessory.. Usually red/yellow wire out the head unit.. On Pioneers (last thing I installed) Yellow was the constant power and red was accessory...

Because the factory ground tends to be noisy and most of the time very poor ie. spade or somehting at the other end. As I'm sure you know in dc current flows from the ground therefore it is very important that the ground is always good and solid and clean.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

grounds aren't noisy. That is a fact. Plus car co go through great lengths to see that the electrical system doesn't have problems. Only an BS artist would take out a clean stock radio. Put in a new after market one and tell you that the noise is due to the car's wiring:crazy:
