Power Wire Size Question

I need to wire 2 amps (PPi A404 & Phoenix X400.1) to the battery and would like to know what you think of my two wiring scenarios. The first is running a single 4ga wire (with inline fuse) to a distribution block on the amp rack and split into two 8ga wires. The second is a short 1/0ga from the battery to a dual-fuse distribution block near the battery into two 4ga running to the amps. I would rather do the first option, but if you think it won't be sufficient I will go with option 2 or another better suggestion. Thanks for you input!

Thanks for your response. I was thinking, why don't I just run two 4ga straight out of a dual terminal with an inline fuse on each. Sounds the most simple for me. Am I going to gain anything with 1/0 to distr. box?

Thanks again for the reply. Would you PLEASE answer just a couple more easy (for you) questions? I'm thinking of running this setup: A single 4ga from the battery with a fuse near the battery, run to a distr. block on the amp rock, distributed to short 8 ga runs to the amps, then 8 ga grounds out of the amps connected to the same ground spot. My question is about the fuses. Do I just need the one fuse near the battery (inline AGU) or do I need that fuse AND a dual-fused distr. block on the amp racks? I'm confused about that and what size fuses to use. I'd appreciated your advice on this one!

Thanks

Thanks
yes you need fuses at the batt and at the amps (regardless whether they have fuses built in or not).

as for fuse size, fuse according to current draw but don't exceed max capacity of the wire.
