Power wire help

I have a 1000 watt alpine V-power amp for a 12 inch Type-X sub with 4 gauge cable and now Im adding a 300 watt alpine 4 channel V-power for speakers. I've had people tell me to split the 4 gauge cable and run those to both amps. Should I do this or should I have a larger gauge like 1/0 and split that to 4?

well I'll use my own set up as an example. I have a 500rms and a stock amp putting out around 200. I have the stock wires to the stock amp and 4 gauge to the sub amp. I' am upgrading the 0 to a power block and 4's to the amps. I can always add 0's later.

I saw an option for under car routing too I was like //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/ponder.gif.ec2527b23f1d287b60dcbba54f95edba.gif Can be tough to get that 0 in without bulges.
