Power usage question

Im not sure where to post this so here goes. After much deliberation i have settled on 2 http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=15441 of these, powered by this http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_10232_Lanzar+MXA282.html

Ignore the prices because I bought the two speakes and the amp for a much cheaper price. I will be wiring the subs to 4 ohms. So in theory, i will be only using 2 of the 4k watts. So my question is, am i correct in my theory about the 2k watts being used. Next question, how much of a strain will 2k watts put on my alt? I drive an 09 toyota yaris btw, if that helps any. thirdly, aside from the big 3, if i need more operating power would it be better to get another batt or a cap? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Wiring at 4 ohm rather than 2 ohm should theoretically use 1/2 the current at the same given voltage. However, if the strain is way less on your electrical (not as much voltage dipping) to the point that your able to maintain a higher voltage going into the amp you would use less than 50% of the power. Which will likely be the case in your Yaris.

BUT, I would take the power ratings on that amp with a grain of salt... probably gonna end up being like half of what it's rated for (even half the RMS) and depending on your sub enclosure if you are wiring at 4 ohms your impedance rise is gonna be to like 9 ohms or something playing music most of the time so you won't be seeing whole lot of current draw. Too many variables here, but yes, unless your Yaris has less than a 100 amp alternator you will be okay with that setup at 4 ohms with that amp. I would opt for a good battery though. If it wil fit under the tiny hood. If not put one near the amp, a sealed non-spillable AGM type battery like you would find in a computer battery backup system.

can someone please explain what he means by this?

Alright, I thinked i seriously ****ed up. I am almost positive I had a game plan when i bought everything but now I am doubting myself. Apparently I have forgotten everything I have read in the past 3 or 4 days. My original intent was to wire the two subs to 4 ohms so i purchased an amp that is supposed to be 1000 rms at 4 ohms. The subs are 900 rms each. However, i was planning on using each channel of the amp. Now I am remebering that a 4 ohm DVC sub can be wired at 2 or 8 but not 4. Two DVC subs can be wired to 4 ohms but have to be placed as a single connection to the amp. The problem i think is that if the amp is reading only 2 ohms then its rated for 1600 rms x2, which would be bad yeah? if the subs are only 900 rms? I dont know

Soooo, I need somone to please give me a reality check and tell me wtf i'm thinking. I believe my problem is that I only kinda of know what i'm doing. Basically only enough to really mess with me. Thank you for any help. My amp and subs are posted in the first post.
