power cap ???

see thats the thing my last car would dimm well driving i had a 1996 buick regal 105 amp alt. and i had a 580 watt shit amp brdged to my subs. and it would b flashing and battery light came on. if i bridge my new amp only then does my battery light come on in my new car. a 1999 ford escort. i think it has a 70 amp alt. its a refurb from ford. the last owners had it replaced.any ways with the gains turned up high then it will dimm bad as im driving slow example just shifted car in to drive and going slow. but with gains set right a good amount of bass then i only get volt drops when im stoped. more or less what could happen if i leave it at that with the low volt when im at a low rpm?

that is amp efficiency causing that....older "crap" amp was less efficient

 
caps are situational, and in this case it is truly a lack of the alternator to be able to keep up at idle
this cap was on a old *** cutlass that when the bass hit you could hear the alternator squealing.......if the bass hit while you were stopping the car would literally shut off

 
i have a car. i i got ride of what i had in my sig. i was mad cuz the girl next door mad me feel like i been wasting my time.i really love car audio every one at work tells me im sick cuz thats all i like. even my girl is like u talking to those people im on here like all the time now (posting stupid shit 2). i am hearing u guys thanks

that sounds even more like slipping belt, and the cap reduced the initial spike that caused the belt to begin slipping.....

like pulling on a stuck nut with a wrench, and then whacking the wrench with a hammer

just the wrench is with the cap and the hammer and wrench is without.

I was exactly that....a very very loose belt
