People like to dump on the non-Optidrive amps. I'm not sure why -- they're budget amps, produce pretty good power for the money, and are fairly durable.Some of the power ratings are horribly inflated. I guess that's what gets them such a bad rep.

A lot of people would agree that the Optidrive amps are pretty solid amps.

just don't buy a refurb...

I agree that the opti 2000 is a good choice, and its stable at .5ohms. As for the merlin I always wondered why the fuse size was so small compared to the rated power. Its like the atomic 2200.1 it uses only 3 40amp fuses and claims to be a 2200w amp. On most peoples test of the 2200.1 the amp only did 1500-1700w. As of yet I don't know of any amps that are 100% eficient although the merlin series could be very eficient. Pretty sweet looking amps as well. Since i never benched one cant tell u any numbers, but the opti 2000 is a very capable amp.
