You will get 2kw from the Opti and only 1800 from the PA (probably a little less). Really just depends on if you want to give each 1000 watts or ~800 watts to each. And how much you want to spend.,

I want to spend $350 max but i'd like to get the best value amp. Opti does 1600 @ 1 ohm. Thats what I'll be running the RL-Ps at.

You will not hear a difference between the two power output capabilities. Get the amp that fit's your budget and has the settings you require.

From what I've seen the PA3000 and Opti 2000D use the same boards. Not the PA2400.

Which leads me to question the power rating accuracy of those PA's.

We know the opti does better than 1900w at 1/2 ohm with a good power supply. It seems unlikely to me that the PA3000 would be 2000+w at 1 ohm that a lot of people claim.

I see that the US Amps MD2 is just outside of my limit so I'm gonna move my limit up and probably go with that. I should have enough money to get it in July. It's not what people claim its what PA rates that amp at 2400 rms x 1 @ 1 ohm. Now I never said they weren't overrated but overrated by 500+ watts rms, idk may want to check if it really is the EXACT same board?

they're not exact, but very close to it.

the a3000db is rated at 2300 @ 1

Yeah I was thinking of the MD2 now i'm not sure... I wanna have some headroom and 2000 watts doesn't give me that. I might go with the optidrive since the RL-Ps are right at home with 700-800 watts.

I have a pa2400 on my 13w7 wired at .75ohms and it hasn't cut off on me yet, and it sounds great. I only paid $150.00 brand new off of ebay. Really loud.
