Power Acoustic 30-Farad Capacitor?

Exactly right. It's not like the case I've heard before. A salesman once told me a 30 farad boss capacitor would let me power a 30,000 watt system with NO other electrical upgrades. Ha.

 
so you'd add a 300 farad cap to a 3000 watt system? Does such a thing even exist?

Essentially, they are just a battery with very small capacity but extremely fast discharge rate.

 
Caps are for VOLTAGE not CURRENT not CURRENT, your amplifier runs on CURRENT. CURRENT =s AMPS, AMPS=actual electrons flowing VOLTAGE is potential felt. Caps will keep your lights from dimming, thats about it. and it will make you look like a ***.

 
Got to agree just save up some $ and go ahead get some batteries and eventually add an alt to keep up with the batts.
So backwards. don't tell him to spend hundreds of dollars on batteries just to kill them due to insufficient charge.

 
A CapCell is NOT Like a battery its "Semi-Like" a battery..

Inside those CapCell's are small batteries all parallel with each other.. then they are connected to 1, 2, 3 or more 'Caps'... some of them you can actually start a small 4 cyld. with.. but they are still CRAP...

Here is something to think about.. Even with 2 batteries or this CrapCell... the power still has to come from the ALT.. if you seen any improvement in all power wise it would be really short lived..

If your ALT cant keep up with the first battery.. its not gonna keep up with a second battery... or CrapCell for that matter..

Basic math example: 110 alt... car uses aprox 70 alts (Lights and all) your amp 1000 W lets say 70 amps or so.. depending on the Amp.. thats 140 amps already.. plus any additional equipment..

Then you have to consider.. a battery recharge rate.. your alt doesnt kick in untill after the juice is pulled from the battery.. then the alt kicks in.. so if your battery is a POS stock crap that cant store enough juice.. yoru alt cant really keep up either..

Thats where a second battery comes in..

No matter what you do.. at some point you have to upgrade the Alt.. or charge your batteries.. ALts dont re-charge.. they only keep a battery at their level..

Put a half dead bat in.. its gonna stay half dead..

Yes sorry got that mixed up my bad!!!!! Start with the Alt bro after all is the the source of creating power for batteries!!

Jumping a car off simply pulls the Juice from the battery to start the other car.. in some cases the other battery can take a slight "hot charge" if the battery is good.. The voltage regulator will basically see the draw... and produce the power.. If you have the amperage to spare in your electrical system it will charge the other battery to a certain extent..

But in the case of car audio.. even with a second battery if your pulling more amps than the alt can produce.. it can't keep both batteries up and run the equipment required..

Amps is the measure of flowing Volts produced.. more or less.. Your Alt always produces the same Voltage.. Always.. but what happens when you see a drop in voltage.. is actually a drop in amperage.. the flow of the volts so you read a lower voltage because the supply is not fast enough..

Bottom line no matter what.. Big 3, Better Battery, Upgrade Alt if you need more amps.. then second battery for extra power storage..

Caps dont do a **** thing until the volts drop 12.X volts or lower then it spits out what little bit of power it has.. but will not help you do a **** thing..

They are said to prevent your lights from dimming..thats a lie becasue a drop from 14 to 12 will make your lights dim... and being the power is not pushed out untill 12ish.. defeats the point..

The only place Caps belong are the dozens that are built on an amp to store power while it is in use.. thats the only place..

CapCell's are crap.. some will put your system to 16v... disaster waiting to happen and will over work your ALT.. and being the Car is a 12v system.. it can cause damage...

And so on.. on.. and on..

now thats a great idea ban the guys trying to post questions about caps then you would have more room on here for the idiots trying to sell batteries to some kid who needs more alternator.

probably got the gain turned waaay up. Also remember this is just a 2 ohm stable amp. Make sure your subs are wired for a 2 ohm load on the amp...
