IMO you are correct except for price badgering. Price is price. Seller has the idea of what they want and buyer has an idea of what they will pay. Haggling for a point between is for private conversation. Now questioning product, procedures, or anything relating to possible scam should be allowed within reason.'Post dumping' rules lead down a slippery slope. I think we should allow it, if your price is justifiable and you are legit, then you should have no problem answering someone who questions your price, product or procedures.
In the case where someone lists a product for much more than it's worth, it's generally advisable to let them know via pm.alot of these guys know that they are over charging but are just trying to get over on someone who doesnt know any better like that guy selling 8 hifonics hifi subs used for 40 shipped each when he gotem for 34 dollars shipped new off ebay something like that should be called out
If you have a good price, you should be able to dismiss the dumper pretty easily. If your price is high, you now have the opportunity to explain why you feel your product is worth more than the going rate.IMO you are correct except for price badgering. Price is price. The problem I have with the price issue is that it doesn't have to be justified. That is the value to the seller. If you think it is lower then have a private convo to see if you two can come to terms. Price just isn't an issue that needs to be addressed in public for all to see.If you have a good price, you should be able to dismiss the dumper pretty easily. But I do think people just randomly posting their uneducated opinions in lots of for sale posts every day would be a problem. I think it would require an active mod to keep people from abusing their freedom to express themselves.
It just always feels backwards, every other forum on this site is geared towards buyer education, yet on the classified section its strictly buyer-beware.

Classified is for selling not educating. Just like IRL it is always up to the buyer to research and educate themselves before a major purchase.
The only time I see dumping OK is if it exposes potential scams. I don't mind hearing some dumbass overpaid by a good bit, however, when they just get stripped of money and get nothing or something other than posted then it is a problem. If anything I would rather see extremely low prices questioned. Those are the ones that will be the scammers.
I understand both your points, but I think I agree more with Iamdeeman. I mean, there's usually a range for the value of a used item, but if I want to sell something and chose the upper part of that range, I don't want people coming in and telling me they bought one for XXX amount less, ya know? That's just bad business for the seller because then someone who is actually interested in buying it will see that and think they shouldn't have to pay more than that. It's not a store, there's not a set price for everything, it's whatever the seller thinks it's worth. If a potential buyer disagrees they should keep it to PM's and try to work out a deal. If the seller get's enough people trying to haggle his price lower, maybe he'll take the hint that it's too high?Value to the seller is never what is in question, what's in question is value to potential buyers. Otherwise, my old jockstrap I kept from highschool is worth a million... no... a billion dollars.
Believe me, I get where you are coming from, I wouldn't want the classified to turn into an opinion forum, but I just keep thinking if someone ever questioned my price on something I was selling, Id either see it as an opportunity to point out what a great price Im offering it at, or explain that it is worth the higher than average price because of the immaculate condition its in, the mods Ive done to it, or the fact that Steve Meade's maid's cousin's boyfriend signed it. The only people I see having issue with someone questioning their price would be people who are asking too much, and have no reasonable explanation as to why. Many of those people simply dont realize they are asking more than someone can buy it new on ebay for, and the rest who just want to try and lure in a sucker can go to ebay and sell it instead.
I dont feel super strongly about this, if it stays no post dumping in the classified, I'll completely understand. Im just curious if things would still run smoothly without it.
I think you mad bro.people are just rude. all they want is a deal, and if you don't give them one they try and screw you. some people feel like they are entitled to getting a superlow price. No, u don't deserve anything. you don't like the seller's price, exit the thread. how hard is that. or keep the offers to PMs, how hard is that.
more like i'm disappointed in the behaviors of the community in general. there are many MANY great people here, but the few jerkoffs make this place pretty undesirableI think you mad bro.
