The bushmasters, rra, dpms, s&w are considered lower end models. Dont get me wrong, they still work fine. They just arent as well liked as noveske, colt, LMT, armalite, etc.

I own a DPMS. Zero problems with it so far.

ill keep that in mind when im shopping around. any particular why they arnt liked? prices are similar between them all.

also, arnt almost all AR parts 'universal'? so couldnt other makes parts be used on others bottom recievers? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

rock river arms sounds familiar. are those the ones that are like $500? If so, I rmember someone in the army buying one for the cheapness, but it dint work so he had to buy a new upper from bushmaster. I need to find out exactly which one it was.

I wish i could remmber what was wrong i jsut remember he had to buy a new upper or lower for it. and basically spent the cost of a new bushmaster in teh process.

they are pretty cheap for the stripped setups , but comparable to others for the assembled ones.

i just love ar's, always wanted one. and they seem like they have everything available for em.

Sorry for the crappy pic, taken with my computer cam...

top one is my .22 and the bottom is my 20ga...the 20ga is a model 1400 MK II and the .22 is a model 11

As far as interchangeablity, i would assume they can, but i wouldnt recommend it because im not sure. I myself am trying to learn more about them.

I believe the main reasons for favoritism on these is options available. Im sure ar15.com has some kind of discussion on why one is better than the other.

My DPMS came with a 3 year warranty, so i figured if its a piece of shyt, they have 3 years to get it right.

So far, zero failures. Cleaning them kinda sucks though. AR's are dirty rifles. I did see a Colt Class 3 AR-15 at the place i bought mine. 12,000 dollars. wowsers.

rra as a limited lifetime on thiers.. - http://www.rockriverarms.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=page.display&page_id=21

ive been on ar15.com for over an hour now, lol. very knowledgable people there. just gotta sift through all the threads though.

ive been seeing ALOT of .22 builds , and im thinking it may be better for me and my wallet to do that first instead of building something so expencive not knowing what im doing or what i want. theres just so many brands. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Ive been looking at the .22lr conversions on those. Im about to try some reloads in my rifle.

Just sucks with laws here in cali, so i have to leave in at the folks house. I just picked up 1000 rounds of .223 for $225.

I would just buy a complete. When buying a complete, you know it will work. I dont know enough yet to build my own.

yeah , im thinking i may just get a 10/22 and slowly build it up. that way ill get familiar with properly cleaning and modifing a rifle. im looking around , and there are alot of crap for them for pretty cheap.
