is it possible for a mono amp to play 2 subs in a series?? and is it safe?

lets say a 800w rms mono amp,, connect that to 2 subs in a series, would the voltage be evenly divided into both of the subs?

Just make sure that the mono amp can handle the overall ohm load configuration of your subs.
