POS yellow top optima battery ???

X2 as the yellow top is more a 2nd battery that most use..........I said most use in their trunks to help out. A redtop would be better for a starter battery. I know I am pretty much repeating what Iamdaman said, but just adding to it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I had a redtop in my cutty as the starter, with 2 yellowtops in the trunk and never had a problem with any of them.

I have always run optima batteries in all of my vehicles and never had a problem with them. I live in WI where it is currently -7 degrees with the wind chill. Both of my cars have started fine all week through the cold. One has sat for 3 days in this weather. If you can't get this issue resolved locally, please pm or email me and I will do my best to get everything taken care of for you. I am in very close with Optima and Johnson Controls (parent company)

I agree redtops are generally better for an under the hood batt. But Ive run yellow tops as my main/only battery in vehicles many times, lasting multiple years. Including high compression bigblocks. *shrug*

I'm running two Optima yellows and am having similar issues. Once my Optimas drained, from not driving the truck for two weeks, I can't get them to hold a charge for shit. I've had them both out and fully recharged (2 amp over DAYS...) by the local dealer, and they still won't last for more than a day or so.

I do have a small drain that I can't quite figure out yet, but it's only around 1.5 amps. I've never had any issues with this loss, I didn't even know it existed until the battery drained over such a long period of time and i previously have been up to 5 days without driving the truck. WTF???

Reds are better for a primary battery. Yellows in the trunk. I myself use an exide orbital gel cell as a primaty. In my old truck i left it in the garage with hood open and dome lights on from mon night till fri night and it fired right up like nothing. That pretty much set me on those batteries.
