POS yellow top optima battery ???

i had a duralast gold battery in my grand cherokee for about 3 years, but about a year ago i had a system in my jeep and decided to get a yellow top. it was fine for a little while, but right after i bought the battery i stopped daily driving my jeep. so with it sitting alot and the cold weather my optima has turned into a complete pos. if my jeep sits for more than a week the battery has no power to it to start the motor. i bought it at autozone and they refuse to give me another since their machine "says its ok". i'm not sure i believe that though because right now i have my old duralast in there and my jeep starts up fine, even with it sitting in the cold. obviously there is no drain on my system or the duralast would do the same thing, right? i'm just pissed i paid like $150 or whatever for this "premium" battery and i can't even rely on it. is there anything i can do with it to get a new one or something? will calling optima direct do anything?

i thought yellow tops were the "god" batteries that could be drained to nothing & recharged & NOT be damaged.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Yellow tops are deep cycle, which means fully draining them, and then recharging them, wont hurt them. Unlike conventional batteries.
Any deep cycle battery has this advantage.

Then your previous comments dont make much sense. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif Nothing here proves the batt has been damaged by being drained. Like said above, if its the batt, its defective.

i second that motion. must be defective. my yellow top is the sh;t. i can use it the trolling motor in my boat all day then throw it in the truck and it will crank right back up.

When replacing the stocker under the hood, I think the red top is a bettery choice. Faster output and made for that duty. Yellow top to me is a secondary trunk battery for comps or jamming with car off. I always use red tops and a new alt under the hood of my rides. Never seen the need for a deep cycle in the trunk since I never run my system with the car off. This is all opinion of course. I have no clue why your yellow is acting this way though. I have never had trouble with an optima.

There may possibly be something in your truck that stays on and you dont know about it,.

I have had mine in my truck for 3 years and the only time it went dead is when I went to galveston for a week and i left my dome lights on
