I have a jbl gto 600.1 amp and I have a ported box for my jl w6v2. Do I need a "sub sonic filter" for my amp since I have a ported box. I have no idea what a sub sonic filter is, how to use it, or where to buy one. Or can I just hook up my sub straight to my amp? I have never had a ported sub before...

What's the enclosure tuned to...that's how you determine whether you need a SSF or not.

If it's tuned higher than 33Hz or so, you might want to look into one, and set it a half-octave below tuning.
