you can get flat response down to 20hz with a ported sub tuned to 30hz //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif no need to tune in the twenties.

how is that not flat?if you're trying to tell me thats flat you're crazy.
alot of music does, classical, jazz, quite a bit.how is that not flat?
it's +/-3db from 15 - 50hz then rolls off.
it's +/-1db from 19 - 40hz then rolls off.
i'd say thats pretty flat really.
once the mids come in, it gives a relatively smooth and strong response down low.
anyway, my point was that you can get down into the 20's without tuning that low. plus, what music has stuff that low anyway.
yea -4 @ 50hz seems like it drops off but like i said, once the mids come into play it smooths it right out.alot of music does, classical, jazz, quite a bit.
and the -4 @50 seems a bit too far out of place.
my point was, tuning low, helps pick up the low end which generally can give you a flat response above. you wont get the normal peak thats usually seen 30+ but the response will be nice and flat, but of course, would be completely different in car, sooooooooooo cant really say much aside from all theoreticals.
sharp peak at 40hz there.yea -4 @ 50hz seems like it drops off but like i said, once the mids come into play it smooths it right out.![]()
anyway, that 1st graph was the bass response in my car with the sunroof open. it's quite a bit different with it shut but doesn't extend quite so low. here is the comparison for open and shut.
