ported or sealed

currently i have (2) 12in Pioneer Premier TS-W126DVC subs in a pre fab sealed box. would they sound better if they were ported, or should i keep it sealed?

WTF are you talking about? Ported is generally always louder any way you look at it, and subs also generally sound like shit when the trunk is open too.

Ported will give you some more output, if that's what you are looking for but you said "better" if you mean SQ than keep them in a sealed enclosure and make sure that they have the recommended air space.

Also dont know if you have room for a ported box, that are larger than sealed for the most part.

I do agree though when you get a chance to get more subs try out the Kicker CVRs, pretty loud subs for the money IMO.

for my next setup i was looking in getting some type r's, or 1 or 2 Kicker L7s but that wont be for a while.

You can get a pair of CVR 12's for like 100 bucks

I have a single one in my trunk right now (which I plan on replacing very soon with an fi.q) and it is really loud.

400 RMS per is perfect for them too

Would you be willing to build your own box? That will save you a lot. You can get home depot to cut the wood for you too. Its not very hard

I know nothing about making my own box. But I may have my cousins shop build me one.

typically ported will be louder but sealed will have better sound quality due to the fact that it doesnt peak like a ported box

a custom ported box will probably run you $150+. id just save your money and put it towards your next setup
